In New South Wales (NSW), 3 quarters of otolaryngologists live and observe within the four main metropolitan areas of NSW (Sydney, Newcastle, Gosford and Wollongong). Outside of those areas, solely concerning 10 regional cities in NSW have access to a locally-based ENT Doctorates. For rural and remote patients, stretch services overcome the massive geographic divide and plenty of the associated monetary prices and disruptions to family, community and work commitments usually incurred once accessing urban-based care.
